Metallisation

Metallisation, which is also referred to as galvanising, is the application of a zinc-aluminium layer on steel. The layer of applied zinc then provides reliable protection against corrosion at a level of C5+. Products that are exposed to the weather are protected against oxidation once they have been galvanised.

Once the material has been cleaned to blasting level SA 3, the zinc-aluminium layer is applied to the surfaces using an electric metallisation device. This takes place using a special spraying technique.

Metallisation is an important treatment method when combating corrosion for: rims, plate-work elements and components that are placed under high mechanical loads or difficult climatic conditions.
