Painting Tadano cranes

Spray painting Tadano cranes is part of the daily work in our paint shop. Over the years, many different types of Tadano cranes have been spray painted by us. On this page we will tell you more about the process of spray painting Tadano cranes and we will show you a number of Tadano cranes that we have spray painted in our paint shop. Tadano cranes can be spray painted in any desired colour. We spray paint these cranes on behalf of Tadano, but also for dealers and end users.

Tadano AC 7.450

The spray painting of this Tadano crane was a first in our paint shop. This crane is the first in the Benelux of a new series from Tadano and has a lifting capacity of 450 tons. The Tadano crane is spray painted in Gheysens’ corporate colours.

Tadano cranes can also be spray painted in a metallic colour. For example, we spray painted this Tadano ATF 200G-5 in red metallic on behalf of Tadano. The Tadano crane is spray painted in the corporate colours of MOBIL-LYFT I OSKARSHAMN AB in Sweden. Spraying a metallic colour on a Tadano crane requires a different preparation and also more attention when spraying. The metallic colour gives the Tadano crane an extra shiny effect, which can be seen in this video.

Tadano ATF 400G-6

The Tadano crane ATF 400G-6 was a very special project to spray paint. Due to the striking lines on the sheet metal and mast of the Tadano crane, the paintwork had a beautifully sleek and unique end result. The Tadano crane is spray painted in Cunzolo’s corporate colours and is definitely one of the most special Tadano cranes that we have spray painted in our paint shop so far.

Working process of spray painting Tadano cranes

Disassembly:

First, the crane is partially disassembled. In this part of the process, additional checks are carried out for rust and oxidation formation. If there are rust or oxidation spots, they will receive the correct treatment during the process. The sheet metal of the Tadano crane is prepared and sprayed separately from the crane. This ensures the best end result.

Cleaning:

After disassembly, the Tadano crane is cleaned in our washing area. This area is equipped with a maintenance pit and a platform, so that both the bottom and the top of the crane can be thoroughly cleaned.

Preparation:

After the Tadano crane has been cleaned, it is sanded. The old paint layer is removed and fixed parts of the crane that should not be sprayed are masked. If necessary, the rust is removed during this step in the work process.

Spraying:

After the preparation work, the crane is put into the spray booth for a new spray layer. First, the Tadano crane is primed. The crane is then sprayed with the desired paint.

Assembly:

When the Tadano crane has been spray painted, it goes to Assembly. The crane is fully assembled there.

Lettering and finishing touch:

If desired, the Tadano crane can be provided with lettering. For this we have been working together with Van Essen Van Raay (VEVR) for many years. During the finishing touch, the crane is checked by the quality controller. This involves checking whether the crane meets the Gouweleeuw quality standard and whether everything works properly. When the crane is completely finished, it will be provided with our quality sticker.
