In addition to cranes, aerial platforms, excavators, trucks, garbage trucks and trailers, we can also paint other heavy and large equipment such as pontoons, windmill hubs, boom parts, ballast, etc. We have means of transport for very heavy transport such as a 40-ton forklift truck, forklift side loaders and various smaller forklifts. In addition, our overhead cranes have a lifting capacity of no less than 50 tons! Do you have a special that you would like to have refinished? Please feel free to contact us, no job is too big for us!

Mega wind turbine transporter

We painted this gigantic wind turbine transporter for our Scottish customer McFadyens Transport Ltd. To breathe new life into this impressive machine, we carefully dismantled the 2 lift adapters, the 4-axle Jeep dolly and the 7-axle trailing dolly, and gave each part a new spray coat separately. We also dismantled all wheels, thoroughly blasted them and repainted them. The result: the wind turbine transporter now shines in a striking red, while the cylinders have been given a cool shade of grey and the wheels shine in silver.

56 SMPT axle lines for TII Scheuerle

Commissioned by TII Scheuerle, we painted 56 SPMT axle lines. These powerful axle lines are designed to carry the heaviest loads and with our expertise we have ensured that they are not only functional, but also visually impressive.

Our spacious paint booths offer sufficient capacity to paint up to 36 axle lines at the same time. The SPMT axle lines were painted in a red colour, giving them a powerful appearance. The rims and fronts of the axle lines were painted silver. In the photos you can see the painted axle lines in the paint booth.

Restoration of a Goldhofer THP/ST

After years of lifting extremely heavy loads, this rusty Goldhofer THP/ST has been completely restored by Gouweleeuw, commissioned by our client Allelys.

First, the wheels of the Goldhofer were disassembled and cleaned separately. The Goldhofer has no less than 8 wheels per axle! The Goldhofer was then cleaned in our professional washing area. By using the maintenance pit and the landing, thorough cleaning was possible from all angles.

The parts that did not need to be blasted were carefully masked after cleaning and sanded manually or prepared by machine. This was followed by blasting with Speedblast; this is a very fine (metal-free) sandblasting material. After preparation, the Goldhofer was sprayed with a primer coat, followed by a red paint coat.

The wheels were mounted on the Goldhofer and finally, the quality controller checked whether the result met the quality requirements. Our professionals have ensured that the Goldhofer has a fresh look and can perform many years of work again.

Aerial platforms

Would you like to have your new or used aerial platform painted in your company colours? Then you have come to the right place at Gouweleeuw. Our 12 meter high spray booths, including spray lift, are extremely suitable for spraying aerial platforms. For example, we can spray scissor lifts at a height of 8 meters in the spray lift. Because we can spray at this height, the entire scissors package can be painted. In addition, we can also spray the mast sections of an aerial platform, this makes Gouweleeuw unique as a paint shop! Many paint shops cannot spray aerial platforms because the space and equipment required are not available there. To spray the aerial platform, we extend the mast sections and support them with 4 hoists, which are attached to overhead cranes. This is essential when spraying an aerial platform to prevent bending of the mast sections. After that, the work can begin!

Aerial platform spraying work process

Spraying aerial work platforms takes an average of 5 to 8 working days at our paintshop. The work process consists of the following steps:

  • Disassembly
  • Cleaning
  • Preparation
  • Painting
  • Assembly
  • Lettering
  • Finishing touch

Aerial platform painting

When the aerial platform is at our location, it is first disassembled. This is done because rust and oxidation start in places where preservation is poor. After the disassembly process, the aerial platform is washed in our indoor washing area, which is equipped with a maintenance pit. This way, both the top and the bottom can be cleaned. Each part is thoroughly cleaned by using specific degreasers. When the aerial platform comes out of the washing area, it is placed in the workshop of the Preparation department. Preparation is a time consuming, but very important process. The aerial platform is sanded and rust spots are removed. After the preparation, the aerial platform can be sprayed. By applying different paint and varnish systems, your machines are not only protected, but they also have a longer life with better residual values and a professional appearance. After the aerial platform has been sprayed, it returns to the Assembly department. After assembly, a comprehensive inspection of the machine’s operation is performed. As a finishing touch, we also take care of the lettering, so that the sprayed aerial platform fully meets your wishes!
